Agnieszka Radwanska secured the biggest title of her career so far as she beat Maria Sharapova to lift the Sony Ericsson Open trophy in Miami.
The fifth-seeded Pole was almost flawless in victory, saving the three break points she faced and breaking her opponent at the end of each set for a 7-5 6-4 victory in baking conditions.
As a result, she has gone through the whole tournament without dropping a set and improved her career title tally to nine.
Triumph: Agnieszka Radwanska celebrates with the trophy
This victory took an hour and 44 minutes and condemned Sharapova to another high-profile defeat.
Having already lost to Victoria Azarenka in the showpieces of the Australian Open and at Indian Wells, she could have been forgiven for thinking this was her time, especially with a six-game winning run over Radwanska in her favour.
Ultimately, though, she fell to a fourth final defeat at this tournament, having lost at Crandon Park in 2005, 2006 and 2011.
Beaten: Maria Sharapova was blown away in Miami
'I'm just very, very happy that I have been able to play my best tennis since the beginning of the year. Let's hope that I can continue,' Radwanska said.
'I will never be able to serve like Maria but I try different things and mix it up.'
