UMD's Williams Qualifies for NCAA Finals
May 25, 2012 Updated May 25, 2012 at 9:43 PM CDTPueblo, CO (Northland's NewsCenter) --- UMD senior runner Lexi Williams qualified for the finals in the 800-meter run on Friday night, finishing eighth in her heat at the Division II NCAA outdoor track and field championships.
Williams ran the race in 2 minutes, 10.72 seconds to put her through to Saturday's championship race, with that scheduled to be run at 5:55 p.m. CST.
The Rice Lake native is making her first-ever appearance the NCAA championships, and she is one of only two UMD runners to qualify this year for the national meet.
